Public Service Announcement
As noted on various security-related sites, the potential for scams surrounding the Hurricane Katrina disaster is quite large. Expect to be receiving emails for "charity" organizations soliciting money for the victims of Katrina. Some emails will promote truly fake organizations, and some will pretend to be from real organizations (and even have links that look real in the email), but when clicked, these links will take an unwitting user to a fraudulent site. (DO NOT click links in email that claim to go to their bank, eBay, PayPal, etc.)
PLEASE, DO NOT to respond to email solicitations of a monetary nature.
Instead, go to this site: http://www.fema.gov/news/newsrelease.fema?id=18473
The site above lists a number of charitable organizations that are currently receiving cash donations. Please spread the word.
